Amrita Rao – A Promising
Newcomer in Bollywood!
Actress Amrita was born to in a well-to-do
Chitrapur Brahmin family. She became a model quite by chance. She just happened
to walk in casually for an audition for an advertising film for FairEver Face
Cream. She was selected immediately over 60 other contestants for the film.
Despite a busy Ad career, Amrita continued at the Sophiya College, Bombay, as a
First Class Student with her name in the college merit list. After her hugely
successful Cadbury’s Perk and the Bru Coffee ads, Amrita could not help but
accept the movie offers that came pouring her way.
Amrita made her debut in the 2002 film Ab Ke
Baras, However, Amrita was recognized as a newcomer actress only after the
success of her 2003 film, Ishq Vishk, in which her portrayal as Payal earned her
the girl-next door image. Then came The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Masti, Shikhar,
Pyare Mohan, Vah Life Ho To Aisi , and Vivah.
Newcomer Amrita seems to be a very promising
addition to the Bollywood world of movies. So far, she has demonstrated her
acting skills with actors such as Shahrukh Khan, Zayed Khan, Shahid Kapoor,
Fardeen Khan, John Abraham. Amrita has a long way to go to attain the kind of
status she dreams of in Bollywood – she wants to be recognized by her talents
and not by the kind of attire, lipstick, makeup or jewelry she has on.
