Rimi Sen - The Kolkata Girl in
Bollywood Waiting for another Good Banner, Director and Storyline
Kolkata born (September 21, 1981) Shoumitra
Sen replaced her first name Shoumitra with Rimi as soon as she entered Bollywood.
Rimi Sen acted in her first Bollywood movie Hungama after impressing the
director of the movie, Priyadarshan, who was also the director of her first coke
advertisement. Rimi Sen’s debut movie Hungama was a hit. She moved on in the
Bollywood world with some small roles in big banner movies such as Baghban,
Dhoom,and Kyonki.
She impressed the audience with her acting
skills in Golmal, Phir Hera Pheri, Deewane Hue Paagal, Garam Masala and Dhoom 2.
Rimi has been receiving recognition even for the small roles that she has been
playing, yet not enough to bag an exclusive role that will instantly put her in
the category of top actresses.
Rimi Sen is now changing her name again from
Rimi Sen to Rimi only! The reason? Well, Rimi Sen does have a valid reason to
justify it - “There are too many Sens in Bollywood!”
Upon being asked why she has not been seen
playing lead roles in more movies, Rimi says that she is not the kind to sign
many trashy movies at one time and wait for just one to be successful. She is
simply waiting for the right banner, director and storyline to make the next big
move!
Check out some entertaining
musical tracks from Rimi’s movies.
