Vidya Balan – A Young Actor with Substance -
Predicted to Be Superstar of Tomorrow!
Kerala born Vidya Balan is
one actor who seems to promise infusing substance acting into Bollywood films.
In an age where physical appearance is overriding acting skills ( especially in
case of female actors), Vidya comes as a fresh breeze ready to make the movie
acting skill breathe.
A sociology graduate from St Xaviers College Mumbai, Vidya speaks several
languages such as Tamil, Malyalam, English, Hindi, and Bengali.
Vidya began her showbiz career with television ads and music videos (Euphoria,
Shubha Mugdal and Punkaj Udhas). Her big screen career began in 2005 with a
Bengali movie Bhalo Theko which won her the Best Actress Anand Lok Puraskar in
Kolkata. In the same year, she made a debut in Bollywood films with Parineeta
.The film proved a perfect beginning of her career. It fetched all for Vidya;
applaud by the audience for her acting, success of movie on box office and quite
a few film offers from some of the leading filmmakers of Bollywood!
The next movie that Vidya signed was Lage Raho Munna Bhai. The movie was ranked
# 1 on box office for several weeks after its release. Lage Raho Munna Bhai also
proved to be a great blessing to her career, leading her into more roles that
had room for substance acting such as Guru, Salaam-e-Ishq and Eklavya.
In her mini career in Bollywood, Vidya has already received 6 awards: Anand Lok
Puraskar award for Best Actress, 2005 Star Screen Award of Most Promising
Newcomer, 2005 Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow, 2005 Filmfare Best Debut Award,
2005 Zee Cine Award Best Female Debut and 2005 International Indian Film Academy
Award.
Vidya Balan is inferred as the future Superstar of Bollywood. Will she be able
